Hello!
There are seasons when self-introspection feels effortless — reflection flows, clarity arrives, and insight feels close at hand. And then there are seasons when you don't know where to begin.
This reflection is for those quieter moments.

The Inner Child Who Has Been Waiting
Meeting the younger version of you God has never stopped seeing.
"For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb."
Psalm 139:13
Somewhere inside you is a younger version of you who did not get what she needed. Maybe she needed to be told she was not too much. Maybe she needed someone to notice that she was quietly falling apart. Maybe she just needed permission to want what she wanted.
You have been an adult for a long time now. You have handled things. You have carried more than was yours. But she is still there, and she is still, in her small way, waiting.
This is not woo. This is scripture. God knitted you together — not just the you at your best. The you at seven. The you at fourteen. The you who did not know how to name what happened. She is real, and she is loved by Him in exactly the tenderness she needed then.
Journaling is one of the few places where you can meet her. You can write a letter to her. You can ask her what she needs from you now. You can tell her what you wish someone had told her, and let yourself be the person who finally does.
The inner child work is not to stay a child. It is to bring her forward, held, so that she stops running your adult life from a hiding place. She is welcome in the room now. You are safe. You have been all along.
"You are allowed to comfort the girl you used to be. God has been standing beside her the whole time."
