Hello!
There are seasons when self-introspection feels effortless — reflection flows, clarity arrives, and insight feels close at hand. And then there are seasons when you don't know where to begin.
This reflection is for those quieter moments.

Tending the Anxious Heart with Gentleness
he first instinct, when anxiety rises, is to make it stop. To outrun it, outproduce it, outthink it. But anxiety is rarely persuaded by force. It is, however, often quieted by attention.
What the anxious heart is actually saying
Underneath the spinning thoughts is almost always a younger part of you who learned, once, that the world was not safe and that vigilance was the price of survival. She is not wrong about her history. She is only wrong about the present. And she cannot be argued out of her watching. She can only be sat with.
The three-line practice
When the spiral begins, open your journal. Write three lines, slowly. Line one: what I am noticing in my body right now. Line two: what I am afraid is true. Line three: what I know is also true. That is the whole practice. Do not try to fix yourself in four sentences. Just witness yourself in three.
Anxiety does not need a counterargument. It needs a witness.
A scripture for the trembling
Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Notice it does not say solve it, conquer it, talk yourself out of it. It says cast. The image is of putting something down. You can put it down many times in a day. You probably will.
Gentleness is not weakness
Gentleness is the most disciplined response to a panicking nervous system. It is also the slowest to feel productive, which is why most people skip it. Don't skip it. The body learns safety by experiencing safety, repeatedly, from you.
