Intentional Living When Everyone Else Is Loud

Holding your own frequency in a noisy month.

"The Lord was not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire. And after the fire — a low whisper."

1 Kings 19:11-12

The problem is rarely that we do not know what we want. The problem is that we cannot hear ourselves want it.

Intentional living is not a productivity system. It is the practice of staying at your own frequency long enough to make decisions from it. In a noisy month — and August is loud — this is not extra credit. It is survival.

Every environment you enter is offering you a frequency. Your feed has one. Your group text has one. Your Sunday morning has one. If you are not intentional, you will be tuned by whichever one you spent the most time in that day. Then you will wonder why you feel unlike yourself.

Intentional living asks a small question, often: What frequency am I on right now, and is it mine? The answer is not always to leave the room. Sometimes it is only to notice, and to bring yourself back to the version of you that was praying this morning.

You do not have to be louder than the loud. You only have to be more consistently yourself. The world is short on that.
